Where: We will convene at the AmericInn in Silver City (located on the shores of Lake Superior, just 7 miles east of Lake of the Clouds Overlook, Porcupine Mountains).

Group Limit: 8

Skill Level: Participants should have a basic knowledge of their camera and exposure settings.

*Activity Level: The shorelines, hills, and trails of the Porcupine Mountains are wonderfully scenic but they can be treacherous, requiring a moderate level of agility and fitness. One or two excursions involve hikes of up to three miles round trip on hilly and very rugged terrain.

Itinerary: Our four-day photo adventure will begin at 4pm in the lobby of the AmericInn in Silver City. The exact timing of field excursions will depend on weather conditions. Workshop will conclude by 10am on Friday.

Overview: Join us on an all-new Fall Color Photo Adventure in Michigan’s most diverse and scenic wilderness region. We will guide a small group of photographers to a multitude of prime shooting locations, including iconic, unique, and off-the-beaten path locations. We will hike mountain trails to spectacular overlooks, explore Lake Superior’s beautiful cobblestone beaches, trek through colorful autumn forests, and discover sparkling waterfalls in hidden canyons. Bring all your lenses to capture these intimate and grand landscapes! This workshop is for anyone who loves to explore and photograph the vibrancy of fall! We are excited to share for the very first time the locations we have scouted and photographed over many years.

*Non-participating spouses can also attend the workshop for an additional $100 charge.

What to Bring to this Workshop

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Cancellations require us to re-open enrollment and spend additional resources to promote the event to fill the workshop. Therefore there are no refunds within 30 days of the event. Any cancellation made before September 1st, 2025 will result in a tuition refund minus the nonrefundable deposit.

Please note that the entire fee of $995.00 must be paid by date specified to secure your place in the photo tour. If the full amount is not received by that date, your enrollment will no longer be held and all payments up to that point will be considered nonrefundable.

We reserve the right to cancel the photo tour if we do not meet our minimum enrollment. (We recommend travel insurance to cover your expenses in case of cancellation.) If the event is cancelled for this or any other unforeseen circumstance, you will receive a full refund, deposit included.

Lodging
